About this deal

This is a "confused" blister kit. Firstly, if you watched the video and are under the assumption blisters are a second degree burn, I can tell you they are NOT. Also, the Glacier Gels needs some explanation. I quite like them. However, the video says you can put these on intact and torn blisters and that they're 50% water, which concerns me. My comments on Glacier Gels are: We put this kit together with 4 blister lancing episodes in mind. So there are four sterile blister lancing implements:

These items will help me take care of blisters and prevent infections while on the trail. Weight and Size Helps prevent and manage blisters. 2nd Skin ® Moist Pads (non-sterile) help protect against pressure, friction and blisters. Adhesive Knit helps prevent blisters and holds 2nd Skin ® Moist Pads in place. Pressure Pads protect "hot spots” on the skin, especially the joints of the feet, hands, knees and elbows. (Latex free). One downside I noticed was that, for some individuals, the bandages might not stay in place as well as they did for me, especially when exposed to sweat or if the area isn’t thoroughly cleaned and dried before application. However, I did not personally experience this issue. KT-pro tape is our go-to tape to prevent blisters alongside hypafix. KT tape can be used for blister prevention and also for sprains and strains, which can often happen during strenuous activity.

So while I appreciate the shear absorption and pressure relief offered by the Glacer Gel, it's confusing and disappointing this kit lets you disinfect an open blister, but gives you no dressings to apply to it afterwards. Where To Buy The 2nd Skin blister kit includes six small hydrogel pads (squares) to help protect the skin from pressure, friction and blisters. One more note: A blister under a nail is best treated by a professional. You never want to deliberately remove the toenail. How We Selected These Blister Treatments and Products As it is bio-degradable it can be discarded in the hedgerows for the birds to make a nest from or placed in a compost bin, ensuring there is no waste with this product. Are there allergic reactions to Alpaca Wool? At triage assessment, advice will be given as to whether a blister is ‘minor’ and how to treat it if required.

This type of blister has lost the protective skin covering and it is now classified as an open wound Better, but still wildly inadequate. Having said that, I do prefer the "hydrogel pads" of this kit to the "moist pads" of Spenco's kit. They are very good at absorbing shear disortions, last a lot longer and aren't just 95% water. But, they won't absorb blister fluids so can't be used over an already-formed blister. This kit needs some island dressings at the very least. Where To Buy Next, we researched dozens of products from the top, trusted brands. We prioritized bandages that are thin, flexible, and easy to apply. We also considered price, shape, materials, and whether the bandage was waterproof. These items are not included in our blister treatment kit. We strongly recommend that kinesiology tape is cut to length before the event as this is time-consuming and frustrating when tired. What impressed me the most was the faster healing process compared to regular bandages. The Compeed pads created a moist healing environment, protecting my blisters from dirt, water, germs, and bacteria. As someone who enjoys long hikes, this was a game-changer for me since it helped minimize the impact that blisters can have on my overall experience. Patients will be assessed in a triage system prior to treatment, with the most needy being treated first, regardless of how long the others may have already queued for. For those people who suffer from blisters in between or on the top of the toes, it is best to weave the wool around the toes in a figure of eight fashion, from the larger toe to the smallest toe. If you have an existing blister, that already has a dressing on, you can still use the wool to prevent further friction, pressure, and blisters
